In 1981 Daddy-O helped form Stetsasonic in Brooklyn, New York. He produced and remixed songs for musical acts such as Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The B-52’s, Jeffrey Osborne, Chante Moore, and Lil’ Kim.
1988 saw the release of Audio Two “Top Billin” which Daddy-O was responsible for producing and creating one of the most sampled tracks in hip hop history.
In 1992, he produced the entirety of Nubian M.O.B., the eponymous debut album by the R&B group of the same name. He released his debut solo album in 1993, You Can be a Daddy, But Never Daddy-O, on Island/PolyGram Records. In 1993, Daddy-O produced and appeared on the track “Inner City Boundaries”, off of Freestyle Fellowship‘s 1993 album Innercity Griots.
From 1994 to 1998, he was a Senior Director for MCA Records. After leaving MCA, he worked for Motown Records and various other entertainment agencies, where he helped to produce and discover talent. Other acts with which he has been associated include Sonic Youth, Sublime, Barry White, They Might Be Giants, Camron, Pizzicato 5, and Third World.
In 2015, Daddy-O joined the CloudSpray team as a management and marketing consultant. He released his solo albums on the OTR Label and released them on Chuck’s distribution company SpitDigital. The first release was “#EverybodyButKRS”, followed in February 2016 with the album “The Odad, the Gun, & the Children”.
Staking the claim as the most relevant classic MC today, he presents his new album “From My Hood 2 U” featuring the likes of Posdenus of De La Soul, Bun B and RA The Rugged Man. The album has already garnered critical acclaim from Ambrosia for Heads and LL Cool J’s Rock The Bells Radio.
